What do I go about writing a thank you letter to a scholarship committee?

I am a senior in high school and I recently won a scholarship and want to write a thank you letter or card to the foundation. Should this be a short thank you of only a few sentences? I have not worked with this foundation nor do I know much about it, but I want to write a genuine thank you note. Are there any do's and do not's for these types of thank you's? #scholarships #letter #thank-you

Andria’s Answer

A hand written thank you note will forsure stand out. to many people send everything electronically and it is just pushed asside.

Short and sweet is the way to go. a few sentences, thank them for their time, acknowledge that you know there are many applicants and it meant a lot just to be considered.

Good luck and make sure to follow through on it.

Hi Galina!

Sending a thank you note will definitely make you stand out. It is great that you thought of it. When I was in Personnel Administration, I got to a point where I did not take a person seriously unless and until they make a follow up. Here are some good examples.
