I'm interested in culinary-arts and wanted to know how difficult it is to get a job in CA?

In your opinion, how difficult is it for recent graduates of a college or job training program to get hired in CA - not difficult, somewhat difficult, or very difficult?

It depends on where you are in California and what type of food you want to do. The culinary field is begging for new cooks right now. Covid made a lot of people in the culinary industry reassess their lives and how hard they wanted to work for a living. So there is a void in the culinary and everyone is looking for talent in all ranges from the dishwasher to the executive chef. Restaurants, Catering Houses, Hospitals, Private Chefs, Corporate Dining are all looking. Have fun, be patient and ready to trail.

Hi There! I'm currently in Southern California and I'd say it is somewhat difficult finding a job in field. There is so many places to choose from but it all depends on being at the right place at the right time. You can use online resources to see who is hiring and to send out resumes, but if you really want to get in somewhere you need to go door to door with your resume in hand. And that way too you can see if the place is right for you and what you are looking for in a work environment. Don't forget to check out places like schools and retirement homes, they have kitchens too. Also try to Intern somewhere before you graduate/ leave your program, you get hands on job experience that way and most of the time, if they like you , they'll hire you at the end of your program or internship.
Good luck out there!
