Joe’s Answer

Hello Amente

Good day, hope you are doing good, the answer to your question is easy, the road to get there is the thing lol
in order to become a successful athlete specially in Football takes a lot of discipline and dedication, is not hard but you need to take into consideration that football is a contact sport, and as all contact sports they require you to be in top shape, you will need to build your muscle mass, cardio, stamina, speed, and knowledge of the game.
Being a football player is not just about putting a uniform and going on the field, if you noticed most players have a strict diet, they do not have any vises, no smoking or alcohol consumption, they are very strict on what goes into their body because being and staying in shape is the most important thing.
Look at past drafts, you will notice that 90% if not more of the athletes drafter come form college, if you are aiming to become a College football player, just about 90% of colleges and Universities require to have and maintain a good GPA So education is extremely important, College level trainers know that in a worse case scenario, if you would become injured (remember is a contact sport) then you'll have an education to fall into.
If you want to start this path follow the suggestions bellow and I wish you the best of luck and lots of success
Hope this helps
All the best

Joe recommends the following next steps:

Start with a balanced diet, protein, and carbs
eliminate any processed foods, alcohol, soda, junk food like chips, pastries, fast food.
Start an exercise program, build muscle, strength, stamina, cardio, speed.
Do not lay back on your education.
Last but not least, keep a level head, maintain your responsibilities, priorities, discipline and dedication paramount.

Daniel’s Answer

Amente, as a former D1 tennis player I can tell you that there are many answers for this questions. Of course you need to work hard, live healthy lifestyle, keep yourself motivated, keep your head up and all the other typical quotes... BUT, if you want to get the SPECIFICS, this is not the place where you will find your answer. Start reaching out to colligate football players and start asking them more SPECIFIC questions so you can get more SPECIFIC answers. After you talk to a good amount of players and got a lot of info from different perspectives, you can choose what fits you more and what fits you less and go from there.

Best of Luck!

I first think sports are amazing, I want to share with you the tips that have helped a lot of peers and myself.
1. CONSISTENCY is the key
2. Everything matters, every drill, every play.
3. Work every part of the game, and study. For example if you are a WR; Know your body type, know your speed, your weakness. Work at the things you are not great at daily. Study DBs, study defensive looks. Partner with your QB and what are you doing in your off time?
4. Have fun
5. I repeat #2
