Hi Kassi, this is somewhat of a personal preference. Not sure if you have looked into veterinary schools, but you will have a choice of 2 tracks- small or large animal. In beginning everyone takes similar courses, and then later in the rotations you get split up. The DVM degree allows you to do either, and in fact many large animal doctors switch back to small animal later in their career.

If you really have no preference, then some things to consider are:
Where do you want to go to school and live? - large animals are in select parts of the country
What kind of medicine do you want to practice? - working at a clinic is different than going into the field
Do you want to travel? - large animal might require more travel
Do you want to work for the government?
Large animal has slightly more risk of getting hurt.
Financial compensation is also different between the two.

If you're still undecided I would recommend talking to some vets in both tracks and asking them what they like about their job, why they chose that track, what is their average day like. And go from there.

Hope that helps.
