After basic's in the Automotive trade, what are some good steps into becoming a better mechanic?
Hello my name is Wilson, I'm doing basics right now for the automotive trade and I am wondering what would be some great next steps into becoming a Master Mechanic.

Read all you can about about all the new things coming out. Don’t wait until they come pulling in your garage to read up what new for you to learn to work on.

To be honest learn as much as you can about the specific job you want to do. If it's electrical learn how to read schematics. If it's engine related look at troubleshooting trees and familiarize yourself with the processes needed to do the certain job.

Hey Wilson,
The best mechanics I have ever met were the ones that could problem solve and think outside the box. Familiarize yourself with as many possible scenarios to best prepare yourself with what might come in next.
Lastly mechanics like any profession takes time to become an expert in, focus on just learning a little bit more every day!
