Hello Dana,
I can't speak to you about fashion, but I can about acting. These steps are of paramount importance.
1. Find a school or courses in your area that teach the art of acting for the camera and stage. Living your life normally and living life in front of the camera or on stage are two very different animals and it takes training.
2. Find a photographer who specializes in professional, entertainment industry headshots.
3. After you've learned about scene study and the techniques of acting, find someone who can teach you about creating a reel for yourself. There are many courses and tips on youtube on this subject from the simple to the complicated.
4. Numbers 2 and 3 are your calling cards. The chances of your getting any work are nono-thin, slim to nill without them.
5. Befriend other actors, directors, producers, and agents. Listen to what they have to tell you about the industry. Look up, Wendy Elaine Wright. She won't stare you wrong.
6. AGENTS & MANAGERS. A&M's are your partners. However, they will not want to speak, much less know who you are unless you can show dedication to the industry and craft through consistency in landing jobs on your own and an insane personal work ethic. Remember, these are your business partners. They work WITH you, not FOR you.
6. Finally, FAME! Fame is the residual result of understanding the industry like the face of your phone, consistency of landed work, energy, skill, who you know, how you know them. Importantly, consistency of exposure, and an accepted understanding that you will have to fight for your privacy if you want any. (and believe me...at some point in your fame-filled life...you WILL desire privacy more than nearly anything.)

Hello, There are 13 fashion schools in Michigan. College for Creative Studies is near downtown Detroit therefore, you are in luck! Contact them on social media, and follow their instruction on how to be seen. Most likely the website will detail instructions how to request a look book or sketches from you. The reason you must is becuase the fashion industry experts can evaluate your designs and set you on a path to reaching your dream. Also, search YouTube for documentaries about your favorite designers. Learning the steps they took to get to where they are will help you carve out your own path as well. As for acting, I agree with Damian’s 6 point answer above.
