So in most states, truck drivers can drive up to 11 hours a day with a 30 minute rest break in the middle. That is the legal max you can do per day. You cannot drive more than that or you will risk losing your license. You will also need to take a 34 hours reset every week and you cannot drive commercially during that time. If you are looking for higher paying trucking jobs, generally speaking you will need to do Over The Road or OTR trucking, These drivers can be out on the road most up to 2 weeks or more at once without going home. They can often make 6 figures, but you will sacrifice your home life. There are also regional routes where you are out for several days and then home and local routes where you are home everyday. They will not pay as much but will allow you to have a home life. Remember truck drivers will generally only get paid when driving so you will not be paid when you are resting, be it at home or in your truck. It really depends on you and what you prefer. Good luck.

Daniel, the average human has the capacity to do 6.5 hours of productive work per day. Accounting for breaks, lunch, etc., 8 hours is considered to be a typical work day. If you count 5 days of working, it comes to 40 hours per week. That is a good goal to ensure your body and mind gets adequate rest, which will help you maintain your health and work consistently week after week. Sometimes, you might be passionate about your work and may feel like doing a lot more. But rest in between is very important.
