My sister drove 18 wheelers for years. Maps, and how to eat healthy while being a truck driver. Also, the necessity of a weapon. Also, which States are better to bring loads to. ( Some States are better than others. )

It depends! IF you have a CDL, training etc.
ELD systems, tracking equipment, and safety equipment is something to invest in.
If you are driving, do you plan on going cross country, do you need a sleeper, etc.
If you do not have money up front, look at leasing a truck, renting a trailer, joining credible companies as a contracted driver.
Trucking has a lot of opportunities that can accommodate a lot of situations. I would start connecting with people in the industry and find what suits you the most. Avoid investing a lot of money until you have a good understanding of how to make it profitable.
