Law or medicine?

I don’t know what to do as I love the debating side of law for justice (which I absolutely enjoy and is a natural talent for me) but I love medicine as I am always interested in helping out any family members or anyone out if they are in pain. For instance, my mum has really bad lower back pain and, due to some dancer knowledge I have, I gave her some stretches to do and it worked better than the physio she went through. I enjoy medicine a lot but the off putting thing about it is the number of years to study it. I want to be an actress and model on the side so I’m worried if being a doctor won’t give me the same freedoms a freelance lawyer might. Please advise :)

I's is a very easy answer. Go where your heart and interests take you. These days people shift positions over 7 times in their life. You need to look at the "Business" end of either profession. We are ranked about 43 rd in the world in our healthcare so you need to look at what is driving this downturn. Personally, the insurance companies are paying less but demanding more and more proof of what you do is making a difference.

In the legal field, you'll spend far more time on paperwork, research and deal-making than you will arguing cases in court. Most of the work will be "behind the scenes" and include preparing for cases, researching case law, interviewing people involved, reading reports, etc.

I would argue that the legal field will be more rewarding than the medical field. My sister is in the medical field and I am in law enforcement. Obviously law enforcement in the UK is far different than in the US, but our missions are parallel.
Thank you comment icon Hello, David, thank you for your answer! May I ask how is law different in the US and UK and how would you say working in the legal field is more rewarding? Samira

It seems as if this question has been answered before. Warren Buffett I quote, said follow your passion. You really can't know what you are capable of achieving. Just make sure whatever you pick, that you aren't following your ego, believe me you can do a lot of debating with patients, or hospital administration or law firms
Thank you comment icon Alright, I’ll be sure to follow that advice. But with following my passion of becoming an actress and model, they have a very small rate of actually establishing your name and it’s rare to make a living from it due to competition and all. Samira
