Hi Rijan. At the moment CareerVillage.org is primarily a resource for United States students. However, we are good friends with many other resources around the world we can recommend for you. For example, I think you may find your question would be very welcome at meracareerguide, an India-based website similar to CareerVillage.org. Good luck!

Yamini’s Answer

Hi Rijan,

India has some really good and renowned Engineering Universities and Colleges all over the country. To name a few top institutes, Indian Institute of Technology(s), Birla Institute of Technology, Delhi Technological University, Maharashtra Institute of Technology. Most of these institutes have a good curriculum for Engineering in IT.

As far as admissions go, each college/university has different criteria of accepting students. It might be by way of an Entrance Exam or Merit System based on marks secured in the 12th Boards.

Typical subjects for a B.E. in I.T. would include Data Structures, Operating Systems, Database Systems, Mobile Computing, Internet Technology etc. In terms of practicals, you might learn C++, Java, .NET etc.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Yamini
