Hi there Lillian, congratulations on researching into being a wedding planner. So a wedding planner is really a manager that creates and manages events, so you could look into some colleges and schools that offer courses in event management and event planning. These could be online or in person. I see you are in South Carolina, so here are a few options I just googled you could consider:
https://sc.edu/about/offices_and_divisions/conference_event_planning/
https://www.uclaextension.edu/business-management/hospitality-management/specialization/event-planning-and-management
https://www.csudh.edu/ccpe/meeting-event-planning/
You could also maybe think about reaching out to some of these wedding planners in SC and ask them if they offer any internships ... sometimes learning on the job can be the best way to learn: https://www.theknot.com/marketplace/wedding-planners/south-carolina
Hope this helps and best of luck on your career journey!

Schools with strong hospitality or business programs would be a great start. You will find that many in the event planning space have a variety of majors. I have planned many events and I majored in Public Relations and minored in Business Administration.
When thinking of college choices, I always encourage students to consider their top 3 - 5 considerations and use that to help weigh your decisions. Those goals could be, but not limited to: proximity to home, program offerings, vibe of school, academic reputation, extra curricular options, physical location...etc. Choosing a college is a big choice with multiple factors to consider - make sure you think of ALL of them, and not just do they have the program that you may want.

Schools that have a hospitality program would be the best choice as they also have established channels for on site training programs to teach you a wide spectrum of hospitality. I would also work with event planning agencies and catering companies to get work experience as well. When I worked in wedding planning, it is important that you learn about good people management skills as this can be a very stressful experience for the end user and finding ways to manage expectations and provide solutions is key. There are also degrees you can obtain such as certified meeting planner that are also great certifications to have that don't require you to go to college to receive those certifications.
