Vijay’s Answer

I know you are a kid but it is better to type a complete sentence in a public forum instead of the short-hand representation of words. This could be held against you when you explore a career. If you want to be a "Perfect Software Guy", start programming. May be write an app or create a website. Your degree is just one of many factors and real-world projects/experience will always carry more weight.

Monty’s Answer

Different schools will call the degree different things - I would not sweat what it is called but look at the content. In general engineering tends towards the lower level of subject - hardware design, OS development and things like that. Software developement/Comp Sci is more focused on how to develop solid code on clients and servers. I would lean away from a degree in IT as it tends to mean supporting the technical infrastructure.

The engineer builds the chip, the comp sci grad writes the application and the IT manager runs the help desk. A gross generalization but it gives you a sense of the roles. You should look at the programs you are interested in and see where they lead.
