Hi Braden!
I would start thinking about what interests you, what activities, hobbies and areas you're passionate about, and what can you see yourself doing. It may sound cliche, but, I've always been told that if you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life. I've found that to be very true.
Some things to think about:
1. Take some career aptitude tests, lots are available online.
2. Research the careers you're matched with, and see if it interests you
3. Shadow folks in that profession, and don't hesitate to ask questions
4. Find a mentor; talk to your parents and get their buy in, but find a mentor in that career that interests you.
Best of luck!

Hi Braden!
Your happiness starts with you. Review what makes you happy. What you will like to do and be happy, even without material reward, commendation or recognition is your motivating career.
Read more on motivation.
Other factors include your lifestyle. Example- If you do not like to travel and you choose Journalism as a career, it will be a counter personality career choice.
Match your personality, motivations, interests, strengths and other factors against your chosen career and see if you are good to go.
Success!

Hi Braden,
I see Matt has provided some practical steps <- AGREE.
I would like to add “don’t need to be anxious” as not knowing what career you want to do as a junior is fairly common, I was like that. Also, the definition of “happy” is different for everyone.
I’m happy to hear from those who claim their careers are their passion/hobbies. I’ve headed to college major/job/career that I am good at and/or is available.
Best wishes,
Alice

Hi Braden!
Let me tell you an interesting point. As we studied every subject till Grade 8 such as science, computer, math, and art so that we can analyze which subject attracts us the most. Thus, analyze your favorite subject and do a cost-benefit analysis for that.
