Thank you for you our question. I am glad to hear that you want to develop your career in technology.
In fact, there are many careers in technology, eg Development, System Administration, Application Support, Database Administration, network administration, etc. Each of these have the own knowledge domain. These careers can be sub categorised, there are developers on different platforms, eg Web, Apps, ERP, System, etc
You can find out more on different careers and speak to the professors on different subjects.
Also, you can explore intern opportunities on the area you have interest.
These can help you to determine what area you would like to develop u your career.
Hope this helps!Good Luck!

Hi!
Have you ever heard of Presales? This is quite possibly the best job you've never heard of! Presales is exactly what it sounds like, it's all the work that's done by Solutions Architects to create a solution for a customer before the idea/product is sold. This career is the perfect cross-section of a technical role and working with customers to explain complex concepts in easy to understand terms.
Presales generally deals with hardware and storage solutions vs creating software, so this is not a coding role; however knowledge of coding is helpful when customers have written their own code.
Things we look for in Presales candidates:
Proven technology skills, outstanding interpersonal abilities, strong written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
Being an innovative thinker and a self-starter with a desire-to-win type mindset.
Best of luck in your journey within Computer Science!

Hello Garett,
If you are looking into an IT career there are many degrees to pursue such as Computer Science or Information Systems or Communications Technology to begin with. Following areas have really been hot for a while and wile continue to be - Cloud Computing, Mobile Apps, Big Data/Data Science and Security (Cybersecurity). Not everyone has to be a programmer when it comes to IT career however some coursework and first job might include that.
A mix of college degree in technology, internship or voluntary work (like managing a website for a non-profit etc.) can make your resume stronger.
If there is a financial hurdle that restricts anyone from getting a full 4 year college degree then there are a lot of other free or cheaper options such as Coursera, Udacity, Plural Insight for online courses and certification.
Google Cloud Practitioner (GCP) or Meta or AWS or Microsoft Azure etc. provide certification options as well. A mix of community college courses plus certifications can also be helpful.

Hello Garett!
You may need to be a bit more specific with your question but, are you asking what are some good IT schools to look into too? or good IT careers once you're done with school?

Salesforce is a great product that allows businesses to work from anywhere. Because of the Salesforce ecosystem, there are many jobs related to this product and you can learn Salesforce for free by signing up at Trailhead (google Trailhead Salesforce, unable to link here). Besides learning the product, you can also study exam guides to get certified, all without actually going to college!
Along with Salesforce there are other popular tech companies that offer certification programs (Amazon --> you can get AWS certified; Google --> you can get all sorts of Google certifications).
