Read and Do. Start tinkering within your means and get your hands dirty as it were. With the do it yourself availability exploding it is easy to self teach but getting in a place where the guys and gals know their stuff is crucial the sooner you start the better I think as we are at a weird transition point on the tail end of ICE and into electric but ICE isn't going out of style in the immediate future.
