Calipers, Chisels, Clamps, Feeler, Gauge, Hacksaws. Hand Tools like Hammers, Mallets, Pliers, and Side Cutters. Nut Drivers.
Power Tools such as Drills, Grinders, and Saws.
There are more important tools which every engineer needs, abstract tools called engineering skills like personal Communication, Leadership, Interpersonal, Critical reasoning, Creativity, Innovation, Enthusiasm.

+1 to Henry's answer. I would also add a few others:
- Lathes
- Grinders
- Drill presses
- Computerized diagnostic systems. You might end up using these more and more over time, as industrial machinery is increasingly automated. Those automated systems will need skilled mechanics with the ability to diagnose problems across the entire machine (including computerized systems)

My response is based on reviewing the description for this occupation on the US Department of Labor's OOH at https://www.bls.gov/ooh/installation-maintenance-and-repair/industrial-machinery-mechanics-and-maintenance-workers-and-millwrights.htm#tab-2
