Hello!
The medical field is huge and there are so many possibilities! In most jobs in the medical field, you will listen to people tell their story (about their body and health) and help them heal or work to have better health. So what I'm saying is that you need to be patient and listen to them and then you will basically teach them and give them instructions on how to meet their goals. You will need to be a good listener and then not be afraid to talk and interact with them through this journey.
I hope this helps! Good luck!

Really hone in those soft skills. Being able to stay calm in stressful situations and listen to people you may not personally agree with are things that aren't taught in school, but it's absolutely essential when working in the medical field. Keep your focus on the patients. Be prepared to be humbled. Even the most experienced worker makes the simplest of mistakes and it's more important to acknowledge what happened and do the right thing.

Lauren’s Answer

The"medical field" is very broad. And in order to answer this I will respond with a broad answer. As a medical professional you will see people who have issues ranging from stubbed toes to cancer to gun shot wounds. You could be saving lives, helping people adjust their lifestyles to live longer/healthier, you may be setting them up for a procedure or performing a procedure on them. You don't have to be a people person but you do have to know you will be talking with people and listening to people. Documentation for everything you do, you may be dealing with insurances and fighting companies to get the patient the services they need.

Abilities/traits: time conscience, meticulous, detail oriented, physically fit (endurance and strength), mentally fit (long hour days, stressful), strong stomach, technology and typing, respectful, ability to be direct (you are the knowing power).
