What steps would you recommend I take to prepare to enter the dentistry field?
I want to start preparing as much as I can for my future career. I hope to get some information to be well educated in the dentistry industry.

As Atul recommended, take the DAT and aim for the highest score possible.
Volunteer or work at a dental office so you know if this is a career you want to do.
Take the dental prerequisite courses- usually a major in biology covers the required courses. Double check this with your counselor.

First things first - study to score high score for DAT Dental Admission Test.
If your score is not high or respectable you will not an admission in the US Univ.
Put the energy to practice and take as many tests you can take as a dry run by attending classes or buy a book before taking the actual exam.
Everything else comes later such as shadowing a Dentist.
