Hi Kya,
I see you are interested in a career designing clothes. That's great! It's a real art form to be able to bring out the best look of people. Like many art forms, there are only a small number of jobs that truly pay well. Think about actors, singers, professional sports, and painters (fine art, not house painters). We all know people that have those kinds of jobs. But we also know the competition is fierce. Depending on the profession maybe only 1 in 100 people or 1 in 10,000 people who try will succeed. Here's the good news. One of them absolutely can be you.
There's a secret about art that isn't really a secret, "It's HARD WORK!" :-) Yup that's the big secret. What does hard work actually mean to designers? It probably means you are sewing 6 days a week! Starting now. Don't wait. If you can't get yourself motivated to sew that much, then it's probably not the career for you. You must be passionate about it.
Check out this article on Wikipedia. Find the story about The Bettles:

"The Beatles performed live in Hamburg, Germany over 1,200 times from 1960 to 1964, amassing more than 10,000 hours of playing time" this was BEFORE they were successful!
Are you willing to study design and sew for 10,000 hours over the next 4 years? If so, I think you'll make it big! In my experience, there are lots of artists that don't make, not because they lack talent but because they don't put in the work.
Put in the work and we'll all be wearing House of Kya!
Sew
Draw and Sew
Study and Sew
Get Feedback and Sew
Never stop sewing!

Thank you so much! That really helped and I'm super grateful!

Hi Kya, Saw your new question about the money you'll make. I didn't want to answer it myself because I'm hopeful someone in that industry will. But I had an idea that I thought might help. I recently wanted to buy a Halloween Costume. The good ones cost over $350! I thought you could do something similar right away. Just open an Etsy store, create a few items. Then mention you do custom work in all of your listings. Anyway, probably not what you want to do for your entire life. But it's a way to get started and get paid!
