Maci,
Not all programs are created equal. I would highly recommend looking at schools that are CIDA accredited.

Hi Maci! Your first step would be to research what specialty you would be interested in - retail, residential, corporate etc. from there you’ll be able to narrow down what institutes or colleges cater best to your specialty of interest. You’ll also want to determine where you would want to go to school on the west coast, east coast, etc and determine what area best fits your style and that way you can narrow down schools and places where you can do internships/fellowships/externships etc

Hi, Maci! This is a great question. I think researching is a great place to start. Ask yourself questions like, "Where do I want to go to school?" "Is there something specific that relates to interior design that I am particularly interested in?" "Do I know anyone that does this job that I could talk to for insight into the profession?" I think it's also helpful to research schools that have interior design programs. I know sometimes it seems overwhelming, and you may not be sure where to start looking for schools, but start with a simple Google search, and go from there. Once you find some schools, you can call to talk to an admissions advisor that can give you more information on the program.
