For a psychotherapist, you want to have your education on your résumé or curriculum vitae (CV), including any degrees received. Whether you are licensed and previous job experience is important to list. Also, if you have any research background or relevant volunteer experience, this would be helpful to add. Of course, being mindful of the job for which you’re applying will help you decide what’s important to add or leave out.
Thank you so much for the advice.

Most resumes for psychotherapists/clinical counselors are not longer than 2 pages max.
For a mental health resume it is important to include:
1. Skills: Social work is actually the most common skill found on psychotherapist resumes. It is used somewhere on the document about 34% of the time.
2. Technology: Highlight any relevant systems you may use such as popular therapy EHR's like SimplePractice or Therapy Notes.
3. Techniques: Any therapeutic approaches you may use such as CBT/Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or Gottman Method for Couples.
4. Education: Where you obtained your Bachelor's & Master's degrees as well as any other undergraduate or post-graduate education.
5. Specializations: Any certifications you may have in a particular area of counseling such as Addiction, Career, Rehabiliation, or Marriage & Families.
6. Work Experience: List employment history that is relevant to the position you are applying for. Gives insight into informal training & other personal accomplishments.
7. Volunteer Experiences: Work experience without getting paid is also important. It often makes you stand out from others & shows that you are community oriented.
