Hi Jessica, that's a great career choice! There's a bunch of benefits to working in the technology industry but here are the first 2 that come to mind:
- Endless growth opportunity! Technology is constantly developing in today's world and so you have the ability to work on these developments and make effective changes to the way things operate, typically making them more efficient.
- High demand for jobs: Like I said, technology is constantly developing and therefore, there's a large demand for jobs to create and facilitate these developments.
When you get to college, you will be able to pursue software engineering courses and be exposed to what this field entails, and then you can make a decision on whether that is definitely what you want to pursue as a career! Best of luck!

Jessica,
The technology industry is ripe and is desperate for girls and women. I think as Samantha said it is endless growth opportunity, and so many sectors of technology to choose from. Plus, there are so many programs aimed at girls - like girls who code and STEM programs specifically for girls. Looks into some of these now, most are free and I think it will be very helpful to your bright future!

One good thing about tech is that you can use it in all other fields. For instance, you might become a software engineer and develop solutions for Agriculture, Sports, Health, Climate change, Education, etc. Each time you are developing a solution for a particular field, you get to understand that field better.
In tech, there is endless growth. Each and every day you interact with new technologies and use them to help businesses, students, etc. The tech community is also ready to support anyone joining tech. So, you will always have amazing support from senior techies. NOTE: The salary is good.

Working in tech gives you amazing opportunities to constantly keep learning new things. Technology develops fast and you can also transfer both between companies and roles. Being a software engineer gives you more job security than some of the more traditional roles that may phasing out as technology replaces people in execution roles. In addition, tech companies often pay quite well and have more than the basic benefits.
Thank you! This is very simple to understand- also sorry for the late reply lol
