Hi Jennifer,
There are so many avenues to pursue with a Sports Management degree. When I was in school I knew I wanted to someday work in sports. What I didn't know was how many different opportunities there are! I majored in Sports Management while in school and I also served as a student manager for the men's basketball team at our school. Through the courses I took within the major and my experience as a student manager I got exposure to and learned about the different opportunities in sports. Obviously there are careers in coaching, working for a team, or franchise. But, there are also paths like sports marketing which is very broad and can be incredibly niche too, sports law, sports journalism, facility management, and much more. I eventually interned with a NFL team, spent over 6 years working in a competitive collegiate athletic department, and have been working for a performance apparel company for the past seven years in product management - creating apparel to make athletes better. all this to say there are plenty of opportunities within sports. My suggestion is to follow your passion within sports and see where it takes you. Best of luck!

With a sports management degree, you can work as a coach, sports marketing, trainer, player agent, and many more! With a degree in sports management you can move up the ladder to lead business aspects in sports teams and industries. You can also gain experience from these careers to move out to branch into other industries using the skills you learned if you so desire.
Thank you!

There are many options here: scout, agent, owner, coach, Director of a gym, community health director, own a gym. You can go the professional team route and work with athletes and programs; collegiate route working with halftime entertainment and fundraising; High School club programs; or community health.
