Hi Perla
The short answer, the best college for design is the one that is best for YOU. You can google all sorts of art colleges, regular colleges, universities for ratings, but you also need to do your homework and think about....
---What kind of art do you want to do? Fashion, design, fine art, graphic design and so on. Generally, an art school will give you a more focused
education in art, while a general college or university will give you a broader education. Both have pros and cons. If you want Fashion design,
however, then there are schools that focus on just that, so check them out online.
---What is your budget for your college education? Will you have to take out a loan, get a job, or will your parents pay or help you out with tuition? Generally private colleges are more expensive than public universities.
---Where do you want to go to college, close to home or far away? In a city or near a city? And where might you want to get a job?
--How good are your grades and your art skills as demonstrated in your art portfolio? Do they match the expectations of some of the schools you are interested in?
---Do you thrive with lots of competition, or are you more laid back in your learning style. Some highly competitive colleges can be, well, very competitive in terms of student attitudes and behavior. Think about where you you would be happiest.
So, talk to your guidance counselor; or go to the library and look at books or websites that list colleges; or talk to your art teachers for their advice about schools; and go online and use Google to check out some colleges and universities.
If this sounds like a lot, it is, but we are talking about your future, and it is worth the effort!
Best wishes! I hope this helps.

There doesn't seem to be a consensus on what college would be best but https://fashionista.com/2011/07/the-top-20-fashion-schools-in-the-united-states-the-fashionista-ranking and https://collegegazette.com/best-fashion-design-schools-in-the-us/.
A good education will likely open doors to companies that would be harder to get into without a degree. However, it will come down to your skills and performance to keep a job.
