Roxanna’s Answer

It depends on the type of place you work, whether a community mental health agency, a hospital, a residential treatment center, or a private practice. It also changes if you work for yourself or for someone else. On average, I have seen 20-25 clients a week with full-time work.

Noah’s Answer

It's ultimately up to the therapist but it's usually around 6-12 a day depending on how long the sessions are and how long you're working

Laura’s Answer

This depends on the setting in which you choose to practice as well as personal preference as a therapist. Therapists in community mental health organizations/clinics tend to have larger caseloads (and so see anywhere from 8-14 patients a day). Private practice therapists typically see fewer patients.

Judith-Ann’s Answer

Therapists in private practice may see 5-6 clients a day five days of the week. Some therapists work in a treatment facility and hold 2-3 groups a day and see 2-3 individual clients a day. Some therapists want to build a practice with several partners in which they share expenses and admin staff. It really depends on each individual therapist as to how many client hours they wish to bill.
