Michael,

This will be difficult, but, not impossible. What do you mean by "sales and customer service?" Are you wanting a call center job or what? What other skills do you have? People won't want to trust you with credit card information or gate codes, you need to accept that.

Look for "second chance" career fairs. Talk to your probation officer for leads.

Look to the outdoors. Many people with records go into construction, yard care, or other skilled trades. Many start their own businesses. I ran into a former client who was washing windows at professional buildings. Start a dog walking business?

Attempted burglary plus 2 that aren't listed. People will be reluctant to give you a chance. You're really just going to have to talk to a lot of people and hopefully one will do that for you. Sometimes you get breaks in unexpected places. Do you belong to a church? Can you be a coach, even if volunteer?

No matter where you are or what you are doing, always be the best version of "you" that you can be. You never know where that lucky break will come from. I once had an UNemployed guy offer me a job! He knew he'd be working again, soon, in management, and he wanted me to work customer service for him because he liked my attitude.

The struggle is rough, but please keep at it -something good will come if you just keep talking to people!
Thank you comment icon I want to be my own boss and start a business. But that takes capital. Which i dont have. And i dont work in construction or any kind of trade. I quickly found out that, when i used to work in sales, that i would make way more money working with my brain rather than in contruction. And its not hard on my body. Michael
Thank you comment icon Thank you for thr advice tho Michael
Thank you comment icon You sound pretty smart! Physical labor definitely takes a toll on the body. Would you mind telling us a little about your past jobs so that we can get an idea of what you enjoyed? It might help us to generate better suggestions. Kim Igleheart

You can always still get a job in sales. Although, you will still have to work 3 times as hard to find it. After 7 years, you will be a lot better off. The sales jobs are out there for convicted felons, just keep looking.

Michael first of all I know that with a felony record, you probably feel like your back is against the wall. But don't think there is no hope for you. I was a cop, and know of alot of guys that were able to get jobs although it was hard for them to find someone to take a chance on them. But they did it. And once they got their foot in the door somewhere, they gained experience and moved on to better jobs.
You can still find a job in customer service If thats the work that you like to do. Having been in the customer service field, I'm sure you are engaging and like talking to people. Use those skills to promote yourself.
But, you will have to put in the work and expect to be told "no" more often than not. Just hang in there, and keep fighting, keep filing out applications. Use a job seeking website and look for jobs there.
Just remember, not everyone makes good decisions when they are younger and employers know this. So dont dismiss yourself as not being marketable in the work place. Good luck!
