This is a great question! Please take time to view all responses as they have great answers and cover different important sections of your resume. I will add that any involvement in teamwork and collaboration is important. This could be a variety of experiences such as school projects, retail/fast food experience, and even at home activities.

Hey Jhy'Deisha,
I would tell you it really depends on what you are trying to do next. When it comes to your resume you want to make sure that you adjust to fit the opportunities that you are trying to pursue. Definitely want to have any advance course work and any experience you have with Microsoft Office and Google Suites as well. Don't hesitate to visit your universities career service center. A lot of companies will have resume review workshops as well.

For bullet points under your experience, focus on impact and accomplishments, instead of a description of your job. Think about how and why more than what? Describe the outcome of your work and how that makes a difference. Also use action verbs.
During interviews, be ready to tell the story, make it personal, not transactional.

There are already some great answers here so I will just add on one item:
Leadership roles - the pieces of my resume when applying for internships during college that stood out the most were my leadership positions (i.e. manager of part-time job, captain of a team, leader of a club, etc.)
Business jobs are always looking for people who are proactive and take ownership! Showing that you have had leaderships positions a great way to show that!

Here are some things that are commonly found on resumes of business majors:
Relevant coursework: classes you have taken that are specific to business, such as accounting, finance, marketing, and management
Internships: any relevant internships you have completed, especially those in a business-related field
Leadership experience: any positions of leadership you have held in clubs, organizations, or on-campus jobs
Analytical skills: experience using data or statistical analysis tools to make business decisions
Communication skills: the ability to effectively communicate ideas, both verbally and in writing, is important in any business role
Teamwork: experience working effectively in a team environment
Problem-solving: experience identifying and solving business problems
To become a business major, most universities and colleges require you to meet the general requirements of admission, and then complete a set of business-related courses as part of the curriculum. Typically, you need to demonstrate proficiency in mathematics, statistics and economics. A good knowledge of accounting principles and business management, as well as an understanding of marketing, international business, finance, and organizational behavior. It would also be helpful if you have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as good communication and teamwork abilities.

It does depend on what you want to do coming out of school. Tailoring your resume for the job for which you are interviewing can definitely help. Generally, recruiters look for:
- the school you attended (a top ranked school helps)
- Your GPA (if it is good)
- Any honors or awards you received in college
- Internships or work experience related to the field for which you are interviewing
- Volunteer work or other extracurricular activities you participated in school to show well roundedness
- Highlights on any courses or skills related to the field or role for which you are interviewing

I would recommend accounting or familiarity with accounting software and data entry. Now please keep in mind that these are resume skills and not necessarily required to become a business major. These skills are a plus when seeking employment in leadership positions or operational positions.
