Marc’s Answer

Condition yourself to complete workload to the best of your ability regardless if you see the benefit or enjoy doing it . Those who strive to do the work in school often have a less stressful time accommodating to the hustle and bustle of the workplace. Truth is that most workplaces can be boring and even the most glamourous jobs are repetitive and soulless at times (google: music stars being tired of playing their hit songs). It all comes down to how you perceive the value of accomplishing things and having the will to get it done. There's no real effective scare tactic or great motivational speech that can really change this perception, that is an individual task. All I can say is that motivating yourself can be learned under your control in school or in the workplace where personal, professional and financial consequence have far more impacts. Take it from someone that took the self-induced hard road and put myself a decade behind where I should be by the time I figured it out.

Chirayu’s Answer

Find ways to make the subject matter more interesting to you. For example, try to understand the real-world applications of the material or connect it to your hobbies or future goals. Set achievable and specific goals for yourself. This can help you stay motivated and focused on the reason why you are in school in the first place. Develop a study routine that works for you and stick to it. This will help you stay organized and reduce stress. Seek help from teachers, tutors, or classmates if you're struggling with a subject. Try to stay positive and remind yourself of the long-term benefits of getting a good education. Take breaks when needed and engage in activities that you enjoy outside of school to maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Kendall’s Answer

This is a question that I think has crossed the minds of many students throughout the years. One ways to stay focused and interested in school is to find a topic you are interested and relate it to the lessons you are learning within schooling. Relate buying items you would like to math by understanding budgeting, discounts, spending and more. This can help to relate school to the outside world and make it a little easier to focus.

Maria Vitória’s Answer

1- Make sure that you’re surrounded by people who make things better than they are. Can be a good group of friends, or just one friend, it will help a lot.
2- Try to think that you will need that knowledge in the future. So, try to see yourself, imagine you in the future when u already did that thing and very proud of yourself because you did not get over it
3- We will pass a lot of boring and hard moments in life. Bad classmates, bad people who work in the same company as you, boring assignments… but we need them to get focus on our goals (maybe it do not make sense now, but it will in the future, I promise)

Anna’s Answer

This is a great question because there were many times in college that I was bored and just wanted to drop the class. Then I remembered I was paying for it, and it was also a requirement for me to graduate. There are going to be many things in life that will be boring, and you will want to quit or leave. But to get out of that mindset, think about why you are taking this class or going to college. To better yourself, get a better education, and to get a good job once completed. Nothing is going to come easy in life. You may have some bumps down the road, you are going to have classes you hate, partners in lab you don't like, professors who are rude, but in the end, it's going to make you a better person and better employee when it comes time to interview for a job. Always think about the end goal to get you through those tough moments.
