Anh’s Answer

I was a civil litigator (trial lawyer) for the first 10 years of my career in private practice. It was stressful and often times very busy. Many lawyers in private practice are responsible for meeting a yearly billing requirement. Billable hours are productive hours that you work on cases or matters for your firm (you don't clock in and out but rather keep track of how much time you work on projects or cases). This requires you to keep busy most days of the year by taking on work based on the needs of the clients of your firm. Additionally, because your job is a service provider to your clients, you are expected to produce high quality work often times with tight deadlines. This can be stressful.
