Hi Camila,
It took me a while after graduation to get into the legal field that I wanted to work in. I started off in business and a part-time job with the police. It wasn't too difficult at all to get into the legal field after grad school. Also it helps to have an education in the field you want to work in. So choose the classes wisely at college because if you want to work in that particular field, you would have an educational insight.

Ashunda’s Answer
The most difficult hurdle I face is being an African-American women in the legal profession. I read a statistic and about 5% of all lawyers are black. Yes, only 5%. With that being said, I came to realize there will be some adversity, but nothing I could not overcome. My passion for law started when I was a little girl. I would watch old Perry Mason reruns with my grandmother and hold court in our living room to settle a dispute between my siblings. However, real world is more challenging. It comes with stereotypes of what a lawyer should be and people's perception of what a lawyer is and is not. All lawyers are not white males, although they do make up 80%. So, I guess it's like anything that looks different or unusual, you tend to treat it differently, whether good or bad. However, regardless of your race or background, continue to believe in yourself and your potential. Your only limitation is those you set upon yourself.
