Yes, working in the medical field in some aspect was what I wanted since I was 9 yrs old. After watching sick people in another country die from illnesses that are treatable, I decided to persue that childhood dream and become someone who can help them. After 13 years of education and determination, I have finally come to a point where it is feasible. A long difficult road that went through childhood abuse, poverty, homelessness, and so much more, to reach a position that can help others. I tell own children, when you think of a career, chose something that you will be happy doing for the next 30 or 40 years. If you get that choice wrong, then it's OK. You can always make a new choice of career. America is great for second chances in life!

Dear kendra , actually I was in the army as a tank driver. It wasn't until my father died from a heart attack, that I became interested in the medical field.
