Hi Austin,

I'd recommend gathering as much NFL/football-related experience as you can so that your resume can display a genuine passion for the role you're seeking. In the early stages of your career, this might consist of roles such as assistant coach for a kids/high school football team, team manager of your school's football team, or social media intern for a football team. Once you have a foot in the door with a football team or org, you'll begin networking and building your list of contacts in the desired industry. With time, I'm confident you'll be able to gather the experiences and contacts necessary to find the role meant for you :)

Unfortunately, getting the opportunity to work for an NFL team is difficult in general, even harder for the front office and positions like GM. My first suggestion is to identify what type of position you really want. NFL teams don't have large Talent Acquisition departments, so if you want to be a recruiter, then I suggest getting experience as a recruiter. They aren't going to hire an entry level recruiter so the first step is to get a job as a recruiter, build up experience and then along with networking, follow each organization and apply when/if they have an opening. If GM is really what you want, then you will have to start at the bottom and work your way up. Currently, ex players are commonly the people hired as GM's so you will need to stand out and having as much relative education is helpful. Then getting any position you can inside an organization is a start and working your way up through a designed career path will be the best approach. Happy to provide more context and answers if you have more questions.
