(Team Response):
Recruiters can reach out to you via InMail or Messaging. Please take both with the same level of seriousness. Maybe be sure to make a catchy subject or one that shows your interest in the company or role.

LinkedIn InMail is a feature that allows LinkedIn users to send private messages to individuals they are not connected with. These messages are delivered to the recipient's inbox, similar to email. With InMail, you can reach out to potential employers, recruiters, or other industry professionals who you may not have a direct connection with.
LinkedIn messages, on the other hand, are messages that are sent between LinkedIn users who are already connected. These messages are delivered to the recipient's LinkedIn inbox, and they work like instant messaging.
One key difference between the two is that LinkedIn InMail messages can be sent to any LinkedIn user, regardless of whether you are connected or not, while LinkedIn messages can only be sent to users who are already connected with you.
Another difference is that LinkedIn InMail messages typically have higher open and response rates than LinkedIn messages because they are more likely to be seen and read by the recipient since the InMail will be delivered to their email as well.
In terms of job hunting, both LinkedIn InMail and LinkedIn messages can be effective tools. InMail allows you to reach out to potential employers or recruiters who you may not have a direct connection with, while LinkedIn messages can be used to follow up with connections you've made or to inquire about job opportunities with people in your network.
In general, InMail is considered a more professional way to communicate with someone you don't know, and people may be more likely to respond to a more personalized InMail message. While, LinkedIn messages can be more casual and quick way of communication but open rate may not as high as InMail.
It is important to note that LinkedIn InMail feature is available for premium members only and also have limited numbers of InMail per month, so it would be best to use that for high-priority interactions only.

Hi Sarah:
LinkedIn is a great platform to connect with professionals across various industries, related or not related to your own field. One can search and view a company's profile, available open positions, professional profiles, etc. Within the news feed, one can view postings and announcements from other professionals.
With LinkedIn, members can send InMails to directly to each other without being connected to one another. Professionals who are directly connected to each other can send regular LinkedIn messages to each other. Professionals who pay for the premium service on LinkedIn have access to the InMail service feature.
Directly from LinkedIn Help:
"InMail messages is a premium feature, and it allows you to directly message another LinkedIn member that you're not connected to. If you have a Basic (free) account, then you can only directly message LinkedIn members that you’re connected to. You must upgrade to a Premium account to use InMail messages. You can’t message a member if they’ve chosen not to receive InMail messages in their message preferences settings. You’re allotted a specific number of InMail message credits based on your subscription type. You can find the number of InMail message credits you have from your My Premium page."
"Premium InMail message credits can't be used to send InMail messages on Sales Navigator or LinkedIn Recruiter."
Hope this helps!
