Going to school to learn how to bake can be a lot of fun, but it can also be challenging. It's important to understand the fundamentals of baking and practice your skills, as well as follow recipes. You will likely be able to create beautiful and delicious goods by learning the art of baking, as well as the science behind it. Not only will you learn about all the different ingredients, but also the techniques and tools used in baking. You can also learn about the different types of cakes, pies, cookies, and pastries. Learning how to bake can be a rewarding experience, as you can produce something tangible and delicious.

When I was in school we had a home economics course and 1 semester was spent in the kitchen. We learned table settings, easy to make dishes and meals as well as baking cookies, and other desserts. I'm sure it varies from school to school, but this was an interactive time with the entire class. We were broken down into groups of 3-5 people and would go through recipes together and create fun through cooking. It was a great way to get to know your classmates and learn a great life skill. I am a large contributor to meal planning and meal creations in my house. My wife and alternate who is making dinner based on who is home or has the time. I also have my kids alternate, weekly 1 of them makes dinner for the family. I feel this helps me as a parent to feel better knowing my kids can cook and won't move out of the house eating ramen noodles and kraft macaroni and cheese only. We help with the recipes if needed and if there are family recipes my kids want to learn, I'm on hand to answer them.

Bottom line, I viewed it as a great time, a great life learning experience and I am a big fan of food! It's a great way to have to survive :)

Renea’s Answer

Not sure what IMK is, did I spell that right? I do not know what that means. Anyway, Do you want a career in bakery goods? I used to bake donuts part-time at night in my 20's at a store near me! I suggest you visit a personal bakery in your area and ask maybe for an informational interview or possibly tour and talk to this baker about his experiences. Any career involves a lot of time studying, etc. There are no short cuts. Otherwise than that I do not know what to tell you. Maybe a cooking school where you will learn to cook almost everything as they will have a curriculum if a cooking school is in your area.

Sincerely,

Siobhan
