At a minimum, I would start with a real estate license. Surprisingly, many in real estate don't have one. By having one, you will have continuing education and receive notifications that will keep you current on the latest in the industry. If you like it, you can get a degree in real estate. If you are looking for jobs in real estate, you can highlight your real estate license and that will help the reader know that you come with a greater knowledge of real estate.

There are a few steps you can take to start a career in real estate:
Get licensed: In order to become a licensed real estate agent, you will need to complete a certain number of education hours and pass a licensing exam. Requirements vary by state, so be sure to check with your state's real estate regulatory agency for specific information.
Build your network: Real estate is a people-oriented business, so building a strong network of contacts is important. This can include other real estate agents, mortgage brokers, home inspectors, and more.
Get experience: Look for opportunities to gain experience in the industry, such as interning for a real estate agency or working as a sales assistant.
Specialize: Consider specializing in a particular area of real estate, such as residential, commercial, or property management.
Marketing: Create a website, business cards, and social media accounts to showcase your listings and services.
Join Professional Organizations: Joining professional organizations like National Association of Realtors (NAR), Real Estate Buyer's Agent Council (REBAC) and Council of Residential Specialists (CRS) will give you access to resources, events, and other real estate professionals.
Continual Education: Keep yourself updated with the latest laws, regulations, and best practices in the industry by taking ongoing education classes.
Remember that starting a career in real estate can be challenging, but with hard work, dedication, and a willingness to learn, you can succeed in this exciting and rewarding industry.

Hi Rachel. Thanks for asking about Real Estate. There a quite a few avenues you can take to get into Real Estate. I would like to emphasize that it is never too early. One avenue is investing. You do not need a large amount of money to invest in Real Estate. Often times we think investing requires a large amount of money or owning a physical piece of property. That is not always the case. You can invest in loans that help other investors purchase property, shares of large commercial developments, or real estate funds. Over time, these investments can help you build a high net worth. You can also go to school to become a commercial Real Estate professional. You can major in business or real estate in college. This will provide you with the skills to work for development corporations that help build offices, shopping malls, and other commercial real estate products. You also have the option of becoming a real estate agent or realtor. These professionals help people purchase residential property. You would have to take courses in order to pass tests to get a license to sell. If you have an entrepreneurial spirit, you can apply for a Real Estate Broker's license. This will allow you to open your own brokerage and manage other Real Estate agents. I hope this gives you some idea of the many options you have in Real Estate. Please look at my next steps. Have a great day.

Hi Rachel. Good question. Are you thinking about a career in real estate or investment in real estate? For a career path the first step is to pursuit a real estate license in the area that you live. For residential real estate you can join a local real estate firm. You can also pursuit a college degree in this field. That would open up doors for you in Corporate real estate field. Hope this helps.
