Hey Justice,
To start, I would search out companies that do work you might be interested in. See the type of work they do, whether that be construction, architecture or design based (art and furniture mostly). But regardless of what type of welding they do, a good place for you to get the ball rolling is in trade school! Trade schools are great because they specify in special skilled trades, like welding! They would teach you all you need to know, and may also be able to provide you with the next steps you need towards finding the right place for you to work.
As for starting up your own company, that’s something you can definitely get into after getting some hands on experience with welding, and really putting in time and effort to be a master of your craft. This way, when you start a welding company, you will have the knowledge and skills necessary to do so. A management class will help with the business side of things, but everything will rely upon your knowledge and skills in order for the company to thrive.

I'd ask your self what industry interests you the very most at the end of the day. Welding can be far and wide. It's made its way into almost every industry from culinary stainless steels to stick welding gas and oil field pipe. Don't turn down an opportunity in something you never thought about either the world's full of welding jobs. You'd be amazed gain as much experience as possible.
