What a thoughtful career. If you are interested in being an attorney who serves nurses, you might consider taking a medical ethics class and learn if that's something that you might want to pursue. You could also go down the labor and employment path serve nurses by handling labor issues.
You should consider what makes you interested in being a lawyer. Is there another job that you would be more excited about or just as excited about? If the answer is no, then being a lawyer is probably the right move. But if the answer is yes, that doesn't mean you shouldn't be a lawyer. It does mean that you should consider it a little bit more.
For me, I only ever wanted to be a lawyer. And I'm happy with my career. I hope that you will look back and think the same.

Marafee,
Great question. As a disclaimer, my answer only applies to the United States (different countries have different requirements to be a licensed attorney). To be an attorney in the United States, you will need to attend college to receive your bachelor's degree. Law schools admissions are very competitive, so the better your grades, the better chance you have getting into a law school of your choice. You will also have to take an entrance exam (the LSAT or GMAT are the tests most law schools require).
Law school is a three year degree program and is very demanding. It will require a lot of studying and a lot of logical reasoning. Once you graduate law school, you will have to pass the bar exam for each state where you want to practice. The bar exam is very tough (usually a 2+ day exam).
This all being said, being a lawyer is a great career choice and I truly enjoy it!!!
Best of Luck!!

Well that's a lot of school but it can be done you will have to attend both nursing school and law school. So be attentive and know that this can be a long process and just know that you can do anything you put your mine too. I have a friend who is both a nurse and lawyer the amount of jobs in both the legal and medical field are endless.

Hi Marafee,
I can't deny that it is difficult to get into law because it kinda was for me (maybe not for others). I spent years getting the prerequisites done for the JD that I got from university. It's a difficult program BUT definitely worthwhile. Don't give up on working hard because you will spent years slaving over case studies and statutory law readings. You have to be organized and outgoing at law school. Take all of the work in your stride and it will work out for you.
