Hi Hazel,
I am currently a sophmore at the University of Washington studying biology. I really enjoy it here at UW. While the weather is sometimes sad, the campus itself is really beautiful. It is such a large campus with so many people it's often really easy to find people to get a long with. Similarly, if there are people you wish to avoid, that's also very doable. As for the classes themselves, UW does have lots of weed out classes. This makes intro level classes unnecesarily hard oftentimes. While this does suck, many of the professors at UW are amazing and make up for the grading scales forced by their department.
Happy to answer any more questions you may have,
Rian

Hi Hazel -
Great project topic. If you don't hear from a former or current alum from this platform, try going to linkedin.com and type in University of Washington to find alumni there. Here's the link direct link:

Hi! To look for students at colleges for school projects, interest in the school and for general networking purposes, definitely do the following:
1) Reach out to the admissions office to get in contact with their student ambassadors. Majority of all colleges (private, public and community) and universities have student ambassadors or persons that conduct campus tours. These persons are students and are trained to share information about the school, their particular major/minor program and their experience.
2) If you would like to find students to assist you on a project informally, if you have social media accounts on Tiktok, Twitter or Instagram you can find students at the university by looking up their respective school and classification hashtag. For example, "UW2024 or UWashU2026" and shooting them a direct message explaining the context of your school project.
3) Another informal but great way to reach out to students at universities and colleges is to reach out to student extracurricular organizations that are geared to volunteerism or a specific topic or alignment.
Hope this helps!
