Hi, Faith. Much of what you will be available to test for with a Criminology Degree is really going be enhanced by first finding out how to match your talents and interests with that of the corresponding agencies. I chose to be a law enforcement officer in my late teens and absolutely believe it was I was meant to do. I am now just shy of seventy and recently retired after over four decades...I had a wonderful career.
First, ask your local law enforcement agency or court system recruiter to pair you with an officer or other professional to discuss YOU and where you have an interest/fit it. Don't be shy! Agencies want and need you! We have a number of roles throughout courts and law enforcement settings where you can be of great help and be a real asset. Just remember, television and the movies shape a great deal of how people see these roles and most of that is NOT accurate.
Volunteer, if you can and this too will spark your interests and talents. Federal, State County and local entities usually all have programs like this and your Professors should be able to help as well.
Let me know if you have further questions.

Hi Faith,
You could continue your studies after the criminology degree to a law degree if you want to work in law. The background of criminology is beneficial to the law degree work that it entails. Also with a criminology degree there is a variety of careers you could get into. You could work as a police officer after finishing the strenuous application process and then work your way up the career ladder. You could work as a paralegal or legal assistant at a law firm or at the legal department of a company. You could work in a government job in social services perhaps. It’s just not limited to criminal law.
