What exactly is the major difference between Interior Decorating and Interior Designing?
Are they pretty much the same? Will I be able to do both things if I pursue Interior Designing? Which is more profitable/fufilling?

Interior decorating is taking care of the decor only. Soft furnishings, art rugs, accessories. Paint colors.
Interior design is actually creating ( designing/drawing/executing plans) spaces that work for the way the client lives in their home or works in their office. It most always includes renovations, refinishing, moving the spaces in a house around to suit the families needs. And then we furnish and decorate!

Thank you, Sue!

Interior decorators are not allowed to do structural design anything that requires construction because of the liability. There is no license and monitoring from outside agencies required. Interior Designer have much more leeway if licensed and many consult architects when large construction projects are complicated as they should.
