What is the hardest part about working as a veterinarian?

I'm thinking of working as one in the future and was wondering what the drawbacks are.

There is a lot. It can be a very rewarding job, but there is a lot and requires a lot of mental resilience. It's telling people that their best friend/family member is dying. It's telling people their pet can be fixed but it's outside their budget. It's euthanizing animals that could have a great prognosis if their owner has funds. It's people angry that you tried you best but it didn't work. It's repetitive conversations with people who won't take your advice, but will listen to that tik tok they saw. It's doing all the right things, but not having it work anyways. It's giving a pet your all and not being able to fix it. It's telling yourself "you can't care more than the owner does," but still doing that time and time again. It can be a lot of great things, but it can also be a lot of hard and thankless work. You have to be 100% sure that this is what you want with your life. I'd definitely recommend trying to work in a veterinary clinic before deciding this is your path.
