In college, do your studies and get best grades you can. Develop a group of like-minded students. Find time to volunteer with groups that interest you—seniors, disabled, teens, mental health patients, etc. eat and sleep as well as you can. And take breaks to recharge. Fresh air and outdoor sites are the best- think oceans, rivers, lakes, mountains and definitely wildlife (flora and fauna).
Take care of yourself and ask for help or support when you need it.

Hi Evan,
First, I want to acknowledge that you already have an awareness and curiosity, both of which are your greatest assets in determining your own answers along your own pathway.
That said, I feel the core of the question is more about the reassurance of being on the right path. Because admittedly it's stressful to think you could be straying and wasting time not being 100% aligned on your career and life path.
The truth is, there's no such thing. The right path is unknowable because in order to know you have to compare and contrast to another path but it's impossible to live on simultaneous paths. Instead, the development of disciplines (rather than habits) and self-awareness (rather than mentalities) can and should be a daily practice. You already have the self-awareness to ask, I would suggest a balance of your curiosity be directed outward in terms of outside help and guidance and the other half, inward.
What does inward guidance look like? It's about creating a constructive dialog with yourself. Using your abilities to think and feel in tandem to practice your discernment and to listen to your instinct. It's a tool that takes years to sharpen and a language that takes time to develop.
Also, here are some other direct actions to take:
1. Set goals: Set specific and achievable goals for yourself. This can help you stay focused and motivated in your search.
2. Research: Do your research on colleges or companies that interest you. Look into their programs, culture, and values to determine if it's a good fit for you.
3. Build your skills and experience: Develop skills and gain experience that are relevant to your career goals. This could include taking courses, internships, or volunteering.
4. Network: Build connections with people in your field of interest. Attend industry events, connect with professionals on LinkedIn, and participate in relevant organizations.
5. Be proactive: Take initiative in your search for a dream college or job. Reach out to admissions or HR representatives, follow up on applications, and seek out opportunities.
6. Stay positive and resilient: Rejection is a natural part of the process. Stay positive, keep trying, and learn from your experiences.
7. Seek guidance: Seek guidance from mentors, counselors, or career advisors. They can offer valuable advice and support throughout your search.

Cuong’s Answer
So to reach your dream university, I do have a strong believe that you should follow these steps:
Take initiative
Today's career requirements are highly developed and require much more than someone who won't take risks. In today's competitive career landscape, employers are looking for individuals who can bring fresh ideas to the table and take initiative, start new projects, pitch new solutions, and create new opportunities in their field.
Be your own evaluator
One of the best ways to achieve career success is to keep assessing your performance. Don't wait for your annual appraisal – do it yourself. An ideal way to do this would be to identify quantifiable goals and set a timeline for achieving them. Start with setting short-term goals when you're new to a habit. Create a detailed plan to achieve these goals. Break the tasks down into weekly or even daily tasks and fill out a small form at the end of the week to assess where you're headed and whether you need to change your strategy. This will show that you understand the importance of constant self-evaluation and improvement.
Anticipate needs
To succeed in your new job and achieve career success, you will have to be well aware of what your manager and team needs. Stay a step ahead of your boss by asking yourself, “If I were my boss, what would I want done next?” By making sure you get things efficiently done in time, and take the initiative to do them yourself, you will be showing a positive, go-getter attitude to higher management.
Show, don't tell
The value of action is far greater than that of mere words. Use this as a principle in your dealings at the office. Instead of bragging about all the things you can do, and then never actually delivering, you ought to show management what you are capable of.
Gain trust
This is one of the most important tips for success you need to ensure success when you start a new job. Think of it this way: the quicker you earn your boss' trust, the sooner they'll have less to worry about and hence more free time to focus their attention on other pressing matters. If your boss finds you trustworthy, they'll delegate tasks to you. Make sure you meet your deadlines and keep your promises. It's critical, especially early on in your relationship with your boss, that you fulfill every commitment you make, no matter how difficult it may seem.
Create solutions
Everyone can turn their problems into their manager's problems. Be the solution provider, not the problem creator. Great employees solve problems. If you don't have the authority to give the final verdict on a problem relevant to your work or department, then make sure you offer solutions and try to help as much as you can, wholeheartedly.

Besides all the suggestions above I would like to add one more thing: Be Creative. Based on a LinkedIn study, the most wanted soft skill in job markets now is Creativity, since it is the required quality to solve tough problems, improve something significantly, and to create or discover valuable new things. To become creative is not as hard as most people think, as long as knowing how to gain the skill. If you like, you may check out my books on Amazon: "How to inspire Outstanding Ideas" and "Can You Solve It?", which focus on creativity training.

One of the best ways to go to your dream college is by using a college counselor, typically high schools offer counselors to help with the college process and if your school does make sure to take advantage of that. Joining extracurricular activities can help you stand out, and of course maintaining a good GPA for the rest of your high school career. Find some schools you would like to go to and see what some of their requirements are. As for a dream job, typically you need experience in the field so try to apply to similar jobs in that field area it will help you in the future. Always apply to jobs with your Resume, Cover Letter, any Rec letters, and send a Thank you note after the interview process.
Thank you!

The first step towards finding your ideal college is to ask yourself what is your passion? What is the subject matter that you always tackle with gusto and intrigue? Once you've narrowed it down then you can start to research the various colleges that offer a degree or curriculum that ties into that passion. Don't feel discouraged if you find yourself doubtful or finding new subject matter that draw your attention, everyone goes through that. The important thing is to be patient and take your time figuring out what you want. Don't feel the need to rush your decision or let someone else pressure into picking something you don't feel comfortable with.

As a sophomore, it's important to start planning early for your future career or educational goals. One of the most crucial habits to develop is researching and exploring different options. Make a list of the colleges or companies that interest you and research them thoroughly. Learn about their values, missions, culture, and work/educational opportunities available. This will help you narrow down your options and focus on those that align with your interests and goals.
Another important habit to develop is networking. Connect with people in your field of interest, including professors, industry professionals, and alumni from your college. Attend career fairs, workshops, and events to build relationships and learn more about different industries. Networking can help you gain valuable insights, make connections that may lead to job offers or internships, and learn about the skills and qualifications required for your dream job or college.
It's also important to develop strong communication skills. This means being able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats. College academic advisors or mentors can help you develop these skills by providing feedback on your papers, presentations, or speeches. They can also assist you with practicing interview skills and provide guidance on how to present yourself professionally.
Lastly, don't be afraid to ask for help when needed. If you have a disability or require accommodations for any reason, reach out to your local department of labor or college disability services office. They can provide guidance on how to request accommodations and connect you with resources that can help you succeed in your academic or career pursuits.
Overall, developing these habits and mentalities can help you succeed in finding your dream college or job. Start early, research thoroughly, network, develop strong communication skills, and don't be afraid to ask for help. With dedication and hard work, you can achieve your goals and reach your full potential.

One of the keys to a successful career in business is flexibility. Being flexible to new opportunities that may not be exactly what you want to do but will provide you greater breadth in your skills and may help you land a better role in the future. Also, I also recommend being flexible to move to another part of the country for an opportunity. I have moved several times (including internationally) to accept new opporunities and it has helped my career. The side benefit is experiencing new geographies and cultures.
