Consistency is # 1. If someone eats there, loves it and comes back, they want the same experience that they previously had. Try to have an experience that is unique or stands out. Be known for something. I prefer the food to be the reason I like a restaurant. Some restaurants are constantly busy when the foid is mediocre because they have something else that is unique. Successful restaurants also treat their employees well so turn over is low. Again, consistency. Other's may be difficult to work in but employees stay because of the pay. To be successful, you need to look atvthe demographics if where you are opening,
I would suggest checking the area to see if something similar is going to be your competition.
Pay attention to reviews and actvon suggestions.

First & foremost ANY business MUST remember the business is there for the person(s) who walk in the door and NOT the other way around. Customer service is #1 at all times. Especially in any hospitality based business. First impressions. Is the staff/Host/Hostess personable-out going-friendly-starts small talk-has a pleasant tone of voice-properly groomed? Does the restaurant has a nice smell-looks well kept-properly maintained? Is the quality to value in proper proportions? Is the service appropriate?
So many factors go into making ANY business a success regardless of what it is.
In any food based business a single visit or the presence from any government official or agency results in Questions being asked rapidly.
Always keep in mind image is everything. Visual turns into words which spread mouth to mouth ear to ear memory to memory quickly.
May have the worlds best biscuits & gravy breakfast that ever existed YET if the host is multi colored haired-face pierced-bad smelling-monotoned then so long customer most of the time.
If a dish, say a cheese burger-made with 75/25 beef- with fries cost $9.99 on the menu YET that same meal can be purchased frozen from a local supermarket & only requires to be heated at home cost $ 5.99 that is NOT quality for value.
Many times a person is paying for the experience & NOT the quality of food .
Another factor that is paramount.
So think about all avenues that go into any successful business.

Running a restaurant business can be challenging and rewarding. Some of the long term successful restaurants keep a menu with limited items allowing the business to keep low inventory, provide high quality to those items and keep the food fresh. Advertising can be a very important point of being visible in the market place. Keeping a clean, neat, organized location is also important to draw customers in and keep them coming back.
Having a few items that are high profit such as drinks or low cost food items can help to add to the bottom line. Also having a location with lots of foot traffic is helpful. Good luck.
