Hello Jerry!
Since you're interested in cooking and video editing, you might enjoy being a Food Content Creator! It's a way to combine both your interests.
First, you can start off with learning basic recipes at home. Decide on what recipe you would want to make.
What foods do you like to eat? Are you interested in American cuisine, or international dishes?
Start off with your favorite foods and re-create them.
Practice making them a few times. Once you feel comfortable cooking from home, you can make more complex recipes.
As for video-editing, I recommend DaVinci Resolve. It's a useful video editing program commonly used by people that work in video production.
Get the free version and learn how to use DaVinci with YouTube tutorials online. Also, you can watch YouTube videos for learning:
- How to cook
- How to record videos
- How to develop a personal brand
After spending time cooking at home - if you enjoy learning more about food - I would check out culinary school or work part-time at a small restaurant (that is open to anyone without professional experience).
If you want ideas of food content creations, I recommend using Pinterest or YouTube to search for recipes, and YouTube specifically to find creators that inspire you!
Sending you encouragement as you explore cooking and video editing :)

If you're wanting to become a chef in the restaurant industry, or even a personal chef, I'd definitely look into culinary school. For video editing, this is something that can be self taught fairly easily. There are numerous platforms out there with so many educational resources. YouTube is a great starter for free information and to get you going. There are also sites set up specifically to teach you different skills from professionals such as MasterClass.
Thank you for the advice, Arianna.

I would look into going to a culinary school, you need to learn basics and people do not like hiring without culinary school on their resume.
I appreciate this, thank you for the advice.
