What if you aren't sure if you want to work full time?
I've always wanted to do something with art for my career. But I also want to end up working from home. I plan on getting married and having a family someday, and I would like to be a stay at home mom, but be able to make money off of my art. I'm just unsure of what would be the best way to stay financially stable up to that point and maybe still be able to make money selling art from home.

There are several sites where you can set up a shop and sell your art right now to see if it would be a successful business for you. I know someone who retired from teaching and turned her sewing hobby into costuming. She sells her work online and attends conventions when she can and makes a really nice income from it.

If you want to keep your art practice alive, it's a good idea to have a full or part time job that you don't "bring home with you" stress-wise. You should make sure that both IRL and online, you network with other artists to find the support and encouragement necessary to grow in your art practice. If you are making fine art, you might want to work for an art store or framer, for example. Then you will still be meeting people who can help you and learning things, but you will return home with your mind clear and in the mood to make art. If you find your network and the places to sell your art now, you will be in an optimal spot when you decide to have kids. art fine-art stayathome
