Felix’s Answer
Athletes are highly motivated individuals that have very high standards when it comes to discipline and consistency. This question really depends on the capacity in which you are looking to work with an athlete, though.
If you're working in Sports Management, then you might have the opportunity to coach, enable, and empower athletes. Having the opportunity to help someone be their best self is a real gift and something that is extremely rewarding.
The Sports Events industry is also an avenue that you can look at as a means of crafting memorable experiences for athletes who might want to participate in a race or networking opportunity with other athletes.

Working with athletes has a lot of benefits. I've listed some below:
- If you are a former athlete or sports-lover and you get a job in sports, you get to continue to be around that sport even after you stop playing. Many former athletes deeply miss their sport and aren't able to play it or be around it much because they get a job outside of Athletics.
- As a coach or any time of leader in Athletics, you get to give back to younger athletes by helping them grow, develop and improve.
- Depending on your role, you may get to travel with the athletes, which is a cool experience.
- You get to wear comfortable clothes to work (sweats, shorts, t-shirt, etc.). This is the least significant of them all, but it's a nice perk!
