My specific tips:
1. 40 hours a week is full-time job and is a norm; contract jobs are hourly. And part time jobs are <40 hrs a week.
2. Look for specific industries you are targeting: example aerospace vs. automotive vs. consumer goods would have different pay scales
3. Recommended average: 40 hours a week is a good start if you are looking for entry level roles.
4. Impact of roles: is the role of an industrial designer critical to the functioning of the firm? That dictates pay levels
5. Look up sites like glassdoor, indeed, payscale to get am estimate and connect with individuals.

The number of hours considered a good average for work can depend on various factors such as the industry, job position, and personal preferences. However, in many countries, the standard full-time workweek is around 40 hours per week, while part-time work varies from around 10-30 hours per week.
As for how much you should get paid, that also varies greatly depending on the industry, job position, location, and experience. It's important to research the market rates for your specific job and negotiate your salary accordingly. In some countries, there may also be minimum wage laws that apply.
Overall, the number of hours and salary you should aim for will depend on your personal circumstances and goals. It's important to find a balance that allows you to earn a fair wage while also maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Hi Brandon, In terms of hours, I would expect about 40 hours a week on average. Of course, some weeks may be heavier and others lighter. In terms of salary, it totally depends on the stage of your career. If you already have some experience, expect a higher salary. However, the salary may be low when you're just starting out.
