Is a BS in Geology any good?
Is BS Geology a good course to take? What are the possible careers after taking this course?

Agree with the two previous posters. Geology = specialization, and the B.S. is now equivalent to a HS diploma. You need the M.S. both the the depth of knowledge and" promotatbility."

There are some career options for a geologist. You can work as a geologist in the oil and gas industry, a Volcanologist, an environment geologist, an engineering geologist who is working with civil engineer, a geologist working in the geo-thermal.
Find out which one is your passion and also keep in mind where the best place for your career . For example :
for a volcanologist and a geothermal geologist the best place to work is in the country with many volcanoes.
You need to have at least Masters Degree to advance your career.

Typically a BS in geology leads to going for an MS (to then go into industry ( energy, environmental, government, investment banking, insurance), or even a doctorate ( academia and industry).

Geology can take you into careers in the oil industry, disaster management, earthquake science, fossils and earth's history. BS is a good start but a Master's degree will be worth more to your career.
