How many years do I have to take to become a geologist?

Im curious to see how many years I have to stay in order to achieve this goal.

Hi! You'll need to start by getting your bachelor's in geology or a similar field, such as earth science. This is typically a 4 year degree, but can take anywhere from 3-5 years depending on your degree path. However, this field can be challenging to break into as a new graduate without extensive work experience. This is because the job market tends to be cyclical, and networking is essential. Once a person gets in the role, it is a fairly easy job to succeed in.

I just did a bachelors. That was good enough. It depends what you want to do with geology. You can definitely work for a mining and mineral resource company with just a bachelors.
