Is there a way I can make money making videos online and how would I go about doing that?

I really like making videos because it brings out my creativity but I don't know if it would be financially sustainable.

Hello!

A great way would be to just start posting videos. Uploading on a weekly schedule to YouTube can help push your videos further into the algorithm. When you select "upload video", right under "set premiere" should be the option to upload the video at a scheduled time.
If you do this, I recommend selecting a time zone where other people in your area would be awake. I recommend Saturdays at 3pm EST, Fridays at 4pm EST, or Mondays at 12pm EST. (which is what I do currently)
Making a YouTube graphic to place in your header can also be a good start as well as an intro to your videos to lengthen the duration.

Once you have started to build up an audience and still aren't making any money, I recommend then branching out to Job Sites such as LinkenIn or SnagAJob and search for social media/video editor/content creation intern.

If you want to skip the first paragraph and jump straight into the second one, I would advise you to be wary that you might be working unpaid for a while. (Which is why I recommend getting started with YouTube and just keep it going until you find something)

You could also try this website called Fiverr which allows freelance video editors, content creators, and basically anyone with experience in social media, to advertise their work for a price.

Hope this helps, good luck!

Great question and the answer is yes. Even though there are plenty of big companies that make videos and supposedly AI videos. There is still plenty of work. I do video work myself and it’s slowly replaced my entire income. I’ve found that people want a full package video maker the most. I’ve seen lots of smaller businesses struggle because they just wanted two videos of their small business and larger video companies will only quote you at 2k minimum and using cheap contractors on fiverr tend to be random people who only do one thing and won’t accommodate your other random requests. By the end, you’ve hired like five people on fiverr to finally get one video done and then it’s still choppy. I find the large majority of my business in pricing for those emerging businesses that can’t afford huge video contracts but still need to get content out there and I also find opportunities in people who have large followings on YouTube and tons of content but could use a “facelift” on their YouTube channel. I go in and give them new, branded, opening and ending slides to all their videos, reorganize their channels, etc. I also do LinkedIn awareness campaigns, doing online or in person interviews talking about certain industries, and editing, packaging, and launching the videos. One stop shop. I think skills that have made me successful is I came to understand marketing, branding, and social media a lot more. People want a video that not only gets their point out but also represents them with their company colors and logo and a unique style that makes the video a part of them.
